Coach Rios will serve as the head coach for the Top Tier Gamers 12u team for the 2018-2019 season.
Coach Rios played three years of Varsity baseball at El Rancho High School (Pico Rivera, Ca). While playing for El Rancho, Rios was a two-year captain, 1st Team Whittier Daily News All-Area, and 1st Team All-Del Rio League recipient. Rios holds the El Rancho single-season record for stolen bases in a season with 27 his junior year. Also, he helped lead El Rancho to a Del Rio League championship his senior year.
Coach Rios went on to further his academic and playing career at Southern Vermont College (Bennington, Vt). During his time as a Mountaineer, Rios was a 2x All-New England Collegiate Conference recipient. Rios’ consistently-solid play in all aspects of the game made him a tremendous asset for Southern Vermont College. His flexibility in the field allowed SVC to use diverse lineups as he was able to move between catcher, outfield, and the left side of the infield during a game. Once on the base paths, Rios was a constant threat to steal the next bag, chalking up the second-most stolen bases in the NECC and Southern Vermont single-season history (23).
After college, Rios has served as a High School Varsity Baseball Head Coach, Varsity Assistant Coach (CIF Finals & Semi-Finalist), Summer Collegiate Team Coach, and Travel Head Coach where he has helped positively mentor and instruct players.
